Make your 2020 school year preparations easy with these time-saving tips.

Each new school year brings the kind of administrative tasks that most of us would rather ignore. To help ease the load, we’ve put together a few PAT housekeeping tips that will make your life much easier when assessment time rolls around.

Refresh your database

Ensuring your student records are up-to-date now will save you a lot of time later on. Log into your school’s online assessment account and check out our video guides to:

  • Adding students
  • Editing students
  • Creating and editing staff accounts.

The year level rollover wizard is a great way to automatically advance students one year. You'll find the rollover wizard on the Students page of your school's account and this short video explains how to use it.

Lesson planning

Reviewing last year’s results is crucial to planning for the coming year. Knowing where your students are in their learning will help you identify areas you’ll need to concentrate on, and plan lessons that engage every student in your class. The first step is to generate your student reports, if you haven’t already, and these webinars explore the types of reports you can produce with PAT.

Good news! Linking student results with the specific teaching resources that best meet their needs has never been easier. Question previews accessed via the PAT group reports now link directly to the relevant annotated question in the PAT Teaching Resources Centre – simply click the link at the end of the report, as illustrated below.
