Privacy statement
This survey is to identify international professional associates with proven international experience in education and development for the purpose of possible future collaboration on research projects and to keep them informed of such opportunities (“the Purpose”).
Personal information is that information or opinion that tends to identify a particular individual such as name and date of birth. ACER will only collect, store, use and disclose your personal information for the Purpose.
If you do not provide your personal information there is no particular impact for you other than missing the opportunity to participate in fulfilling the Purpose.
Sensitive Information
By participating in this survey, YOU CONSENT that ACER may in pursuit of the Purpose collect, record and disclose your personal information which may include sensitive information, such as, your ethnicity or cultural background.
Disclosure of your personal information
Disclosure of your personal information (including sensitive information) ACER may disclose your personal information (including sensitive information):
1. to ACER contractors which may assist ACER in pursuing the Purpose from time to time;
2. where ACER is required to do so by law, to government agencies, or individuals appointed by government, responsible for investigating and resolving disputes or complaints connected with the Purpose.
Transfer of personal information overseas
Under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth)(the Act) (an Australian privacy law by which ACER is bound) ACER has to ensure that, if it transfers your personal information outside Australia or its external territories ACER should take steps to ensure the entity or person it transfers such to complies with the Australian Privacy Principles contained in the Act.
But if you consent to the disclosure of your personal information, ACER will not have to take steps to ensure compliance by the relevant entity or person with the Australian Privacy Principles. Please be aware that ACER may disclose your personal information to entities or persons in pursuit of the Purpose in countries that may not have similar privacy laws or measures by which you may pursue any of your privacy rights in respect as that of Australia.

ACER will abide by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). You have the right to:
1. inspect your personal information;
2. request amendment of your personal information;
3. make complaint in respect of a breach of your privacy; and
4. not give the above consents.
