Informative reports provide evidence of your students’ progress over time, with qualitative and quantitative measures, as well as reliable international comparisons.
Extensive, reliable data
Participating schools receive a comprehensive set of data, which includes the performance of each student and class, aggregated whole school data and valuable comparisons to an international cohort.
Identify strengths, gaps and areas for improvement
Educators can investigate and analyse data to gather diagnostic information and identify patterns with interactive reports. School leaders can evaluate school programs and set targets with the ISA's useful summary statistics.
Easily distribute and communicate results
Multiple report formats make it easy for schools to distribute results to parents, classroom teachers and school leaders. Data is also provided in spreadsheet format for importing into data management systems.

Unique insights with the ISA
Track student progress with scale scores
ISA reports use scale scores, rather than raw scores, enabling all students across grades to be compared within the same subject. These scores also enable student performance to be accurately compared from one year to the next, providing quantitative evidence of student progress over time.
Compare school performance internationally
ISA reports allow schools to see how they are performing internationally, based on a large cohort of students from around the world.
Comparisons are provided to three different groups:
- all schools participating in the ISA
- schools in the same region
- schools with a similar proportion of students with an English-speaking background.
National comparisons are also provided for Grades 8, 9 and 10, based on the most recent Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) cycle.*
*Note that the ISA is not part of PISA and is not endorsed by the OECD.
“ISA results provide a good external benchmark for us to assess how we are doing. It provides additional data sources to support our self-evaluation of program progress and development.”
Webinar: Introduction to the ISA
The ISA Team regularly hosts online webinars for schools who would like to learn more about the ISA.
Inform school improvement
Comprehensive reports help school leaders and teachers to identify trends and patterns in comparison with all other ISA schools. Schools can evaluate instructional programs against objective evidence of student performance and identify gaps in student understanding, as well as growth in learning.
