The Government of West Bengal and ACER India sign a MOU to enhance educational assessments
ACER news 1 Feb 2024 3 minute readToday, the School Education Department, Government of West Bengal and the Australian Council for Educational Research (India) signed a Memorandum of Understanding to collaborate on ‘Transforming Educational Assessments in Schools of West Bengal’.
The aim of the collaboration between the Government of West Bengal and ACER India is to enhance quality, equity, and fairness in assessments.
Specific areas of collaboration include advisory support to the Department in refining assessment strategies for the state and aligning them with the state education policy along with providing global practices and technical support in improving the quality of assessments conducted by the educational Boards in West Bengal − West Bengal Board of Primary Education, West Bengal Board of Secondary Education, and West Bengal Council of Senior Secondary Education.
The capacity building of key officials from the Boards, SCERTs, and DIETs engaged in the planning, design, implementation, analytics, and reporting of student assessments is an integral aspect of this collaboration.
