Response data will be aggregated, and some data may be published within reports, which may be made publicly available. Please be assured that your responses will be anonymous and any identifying data you provide about yourself or your school will not be included in any analysis or reports.
Prize Draw
The Australian Council for Educational Research Ltd (ABN: 19 004 398 145) (‘ACER’) is conducting a survey on behalf of the Australian Education Research Organisation (‘AERO’). The survey assesses the identification and support of students in years 7-9 struggling with literacy and numeracy (‘the Survey’).
The competition is for individuals who complete the Survey (‘Participants’).
Participants who complete the Survey located at https://elsa.acer.org/index.php/667663?lang=en and provide their email address for the purpose of entering the competition AGREE to participate in a prize draw and competition on the terms and conditions specified below (‘Competition’).
Terms & Conditions
- Competition opens 11/05/2022, 7.00am AEST and ends 24/07/2022, 5.00pm AEST.
- By completing the Survey and providing an email address for the purpose of the competition, Participants enter the Competition.
- Entry in the Competition is:
- gained via the successful completion of the Survey located at https://elsa.acer.org/index.php/667663?lang=en between the dates of 11/05/2022 and 24/07/2022.
- ‘Successful completion’ is defined as completing all fields required by the Survey,and providing an email address, followed by confirmation through digital submission. This is the sole method of entry;
- limited to one entry per survey Participant;
- not open to employees of ACER or members of their immediate families;
- not open to residents of countries outside of Australia.
Incorrectly completed entries will not be considered; and- ACER may, in its sole discretion, disqualify all entries from, and prohibit further participation in this Competition by, any person who acts in violation of these terms and conditions or in any way in connection with this competition engages in misconduct. What constitutes misconduct being in the sole discretion of ACER; and
- If for any reason this Competition or any part thereof is not able to be conducted ACER may in its sole discretion cancel, terminate, modify or suspend this Competition, or invalidate any affected entries, subject to the approval of the relevant gaming authorities, if required
- Prize:
- Each entry goes into the draw for a prize consisting of:
- $500 in Visa prepaid gift cards.

- The winner will be sent physical gift cards. Purchase and freight costs of the prize will be paid by ACER.
- Each entry goes into the draw for a prize consisting of:
- Lottery:
- The winner will be drawn by lottery from email addresses of Participants who successfully completed the Survey.
- The lottery will be conducted at 10.00am (AEST) on the twenty-seventh day of June 2022 (27/06/2022). . The lottery will be final, and no correspondence will be entered into;
- The winner will be advised personally via email and have their name and state/territory of residence published in the Teacher bulletin, and on the survey website at https://www.acer.org/au/aero-survey on the fifth day of July 2022 (05/07/2022).
- The winner has 90 days from the date of publication in item c. above to claim his or her prize by emailing Paul Weldon, the Survey Project Director at paul.weldon@acer.org;
- Should the winner not claim his or her prize in accordance with item d above; a second chance draw shall be conducted at the offices of ACER 19 Prospect Hill Road Camberwell Victoria at 3.00pm on the third day of October (03/10/2022). If, after the completion of this draw and the subsequent correspondence to the new winners, prizes remain unclaimed; the relevant prizes shall be deemed unclaimed and forfeit. Such forfeited prizes or their equivalent monetary value will be retained by AERO for future promotional use.
- PRIVACY and CONSENT to use of your personal information:
- By entering the Competition the Participants and winner CONSENT to having the winner’s name and state/territory of residence published in such promotional activity and materials as ACER may require;
- Email addresses of entrants will NOT be provided to any person or organisation outside ACER, will NOT be used by ACER for any additional purpose, will NOT be passed on to AERO and will NOT be linked to survey responses;
- Privacy Statement – Any Personal Information you provide is (subject to the consents given above) private, confidential and will be treated according to any applicable law. Such Personal Information will only be used for the purposes specified in these terms and conditions. ACER is bound to comply with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and its ACER Privacy Policy locatable at https://www.acer.org/privacy. You have a right to access your personal information held by ACER. You can also request amendment to that information if you believe that it is incorrect. Your involvement is voluntary and you are free to withdraw consent at any time.
