In this comprehensive course, you will gain a deep understanding of fundamental AI concepts and explore its transformative potential in learning and teaching. Key learning includes, evaluating a range of AI tools to assessing their strengths and limitations to enhance your teaching practice, the ethical considerations to ensure you understand how to use these technologies responsibly and how to integrate AI tools into your teaching using evidence-based approaches. By the end of this course, you will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to use AI purposefully and broaden your pedagogical repertoire.
Course structure
There are four modules in this course:
- AI Concepts and Applications in Learning and Teaching
- Ethical Considerations and Limitations of AI in education Settings
- Basic Techniques to Support AI Integration in Learning and Teaching
- Practical Skills for the Classroom
When you have finished the modules, you will apply your learning by evaluating and making recommendations about an AI tool that you are considering for your classroom or school.
Certification
When you have satisfactorily completed the course, you will be issued with a Certificate of Achievement. This course has also been approved by TQI for 8 hours.

- Teachers who are using or planning to use AI to streamline their work and support student learning
- School leaders responsible for AI technology selection
Time Requirements:
- 6 hours engagement in learning
- 2 hours application to practice.
Delivery Format:
- Online delivery for individual enrolments: Study at your own pace. Online participants engage over one month, integrating theory with practice. Recommended for those currently working in an educational capacity.
- Flexible delivery for groups of 25 or more participants: Available online (asynchronous and/or synchronous) or face-to-face for group enrolments of 25 or more. For more information, please contact courses@acer.org.
